Elements and synergies
Every bip has an element: fire, water, plant or neutral. Knowing the advantage cycle and your team’s synergies is half the strategy.
The advantage cycle
- Fire
- Water
- Plant
- Neutral
Fire beats plant, plant beats water and water beats fire. A bip attacking one it has the advantage over deals 25 % more damage; at a disadvantage, 20 % less. Neutral bips have no advantage or disadvantage against anyone: they are the safe choice when you do not know what you are up against.
Where the element comes from
If the barcode belongs to a food in the open database Open Food Facts, the element depends on the type of product:
- Fire: spices, hot sauces, coffee, chocolate, meat, cured meats, crisps, energy drinks.
- Water: drinks, juices, soft drinks, milk, yoghurts, fish, soups, frozen food.
- Plant: fruit, vegetables, pulses, nuts, cereals, bread, tea, olive oil.
For any other code (books, cosmetics, toys, QR codes…), the element comes from the code itself. Once someone discovers a species, its element never changes.
Team synergies
When you build your team, these combinations give a bonus for the whole battle:
- Elemental duo: two bips of the same element (not neutral). Those two gain 6 % attack.
- Elemental trio: all three of the same element. They all gain 12 % attack, but a rival with the advantage will hurt you a lot.
- Prism: three different elements. They all gain 6 % defence.
- Balanced team: three different archetypes. They all gain 5 % speed.
- Vanguard: a tank in the front line, which gains 10 % defence.
More about tanks, fighters, assassins and supports in the archetypes guide.
